## About Professor Bad Trip
Laura Anzola and I created a live visual accompaniment for the Calgary Philharmonic’s performance of Fausto Romitelli’s 45-minute psychedelic, *Professor Bad Trip*. This work is an intense, multi-movement composition that immerses the listener in a vivid and disorienting auditory landscape, and we aimed to mirror this experience visually.
Our visuals were inspired by the themes and imagery from Henri Michaux’s poems *Miserable Miracle* and *The Major Ordeals of the Mind and the Countless Minor Ones*, both of which explore altered states of consciousness, surreal visions, and the internal chaos of the mind under the influence of hallucinogens. We translated these abstract, hallucinatory concepts into a live visual narrative, blending movement, distortion and speculative biology to echo Romitelli's intricate sound textures and sonic experimentation.
