Hi, I’m Matthew Waddell.
I’m a digital artist and educator based in my hometown of Calgary, Canada.  For the last 12 years I have been exploring the different ways in which art and technology can come together to create provocative, inspiring and entertaining experiences. 

I currently spend my time working on projection mapping projects and interactive installations.  I like to know what is going on behind the scenes so I build and program most of the tools that I use.

I feel like digital arts have so much to offer and I hope to inspire others to be as excited as I am.  For that reason, I strive to share my knowledge with people and teach as often as I can.

I see creative expression as a lifelong voyage, and I am fascinated to be undertaking it at this moment in history. I’ve always been interested in the strange, surreal and absurd - it often reveals something profound about who we are and seems more relevant than ever, given the absurd times we are living in.
